Freek Tajin with Livers and Qguans

Freek, is crushed baby wheat "Grits", It is very delicious and can be cooked in many ways. Here I'll try to introduce freek recipes to you and I'm sure you'll love them.

You need

3 cups, soaked grits (soaked for 20 minutes)
2 diced large onions
1 kg  chicken Livers and Qguans
1 tbsp margarine 
3 tbsp veg. oil
11/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
2 cups Chicken broth
Almonds or peanuts 


  • In a cooking tray, put oil and margarine and add onions, salt and black pepper.
  • Put Livers and Qguans and stir till they become brown
  • Add 1 cup of water and reduce heat till they are medium cooked
  • Now add soaked grits and mix well
  • add 2 cups of  chicken broth 
  • Cook in a 350 F oven for 20 minutes
  • soak almonds in hot water for a while until it's easy to peel the skin
  • cut almonds into halves
  • Fry almonds in oil or butter (you can use peanuts instead)
  • Garnish Freek Tajin with almonds
